Website Evaluation
Why evaluate Websites?
Anyone can post information on the World Wide Web. It is up to YOU to evaluate whether information is authoritative, accurate, current and objective.
How to decide if a website is good for research?
Just remember the 4 Ws and the H...
Who? Who wrote or published the website? Are they an expert or authority?
What? What is the information? Is it accurate? Is it for a particular audience?
Why? Why was the website created? Is it objective or subjective/biased?
When? When was the website created? Is it current or out of date?
How? Do the links work? Is the site easy to navigate? Are there typos?
